There’s no shortage of concerts to attend in the Valley of the Sun. Downtown Live! offers free outdoor concerts throughout the summer at Steele Indian School Park, and this year’s lineup includes performances by The Beach Boys, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Steely Dan (performing with Donald Fagen), and more.
The Arizona Renaissance Festival is one of the biggest festivals in Arizona—and it happens just two weekends every January and February! The George White Branch Library is a great place to meet people and make friends, especially if you’re new in town. The library staff is happy to help you find what you need, whether it’s information about local resources or just some good reading material. You can borrow books, CDs, DVDs, and ebooks at the library—and they even have events like story time for kids!

The Arizona State Museum has been around since 1900—that’s over 100 years! This free public museum offers visitors access to thousands of artifacts from around the world as well as programs that allow visitors to explore ancient cultures firsthand by making their replica pieces based on drawings found inside an Egyptian tomb (that’s right). They even have daily tours where guests get exclusive access into areas not normally open during normal business hours so they can learn more about what goes on behind closed doors at this world-famous landmark in downtown Phoenix…or whatever city it might be located in next week!
